You feel a lot of pressure to get things right, to do more, or to be better.

That pressure can show up as anxiety, self-criticism, or a sense of not quite being enough.

It can shape how you relate to food, your body, and your day-to-day decisions in ways that feel exhausting or difficult to shift.

Still Bay Psychology is a space to step back from that pressure, understand what is shaping it, and begin to respond in ways that feel more steady and sustainable.

I’m so glad you’re here.

Areas of Focus

This often shows up in a few key areas:

How I Support Change

My work is grounded in evidence-based approaches that offer practical tools to help you understand your experiences, respond differently to thoughts and emotions, and move toward what matters most to you.

Together, we focus on building insight, strengthening coping strategies, and making changes that feel meaningful and sustainable.

I tailor our work to your needs, goals, and preferences. Whether we are focusing on building skills, shifting patterns that feel hard to change, or reconnecting with what matters to you, the approach is collaborative, thoughtful, and responsive.

I aim to create a space that feels steady and supportive, where therapy helps you engage more fully with your life.

About Me

Hi, I’m Dr. Julie Riendeau, Ph.D., C.Psych., a Clinical and Health Psychologist based in Thunder Bay, Ontario.

I work with adults who experience anxiety, self-criticism, and ongoing internal pressure, often alongside patterns that feel difficult to shift. This can show up in mood, sleep, or in your relationship with food or your body.

I approach therapy with warmth, curiosity, and respect. My work draws on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and mindfulness.

Our work together is flexible and guided by your goals. We focus on understanding the patterns that are keeping things stuck, and finding ways to respond differently.

What It’s Like to Work Together

My aim is to offer a space that feels steady and thoughtful, centred on you. I show up with curiosity, warmth, and respect, and invite you to bring whatever feels true, without pressure or judgment.

Many of the people I work with are used to holding themselves to a high standard. You might spend a lot of time thinking things through, trying to get things “right,” or feeling pulled in different directions by competing expectations. From the outside, things may look fine, but internally it can feel effortful, tense, or hard to switch off.

Our work focuses on understanding these patterns and how they operate, and finding ways to respond differently, without adding more pressure or rules.

I offer tools when they are helpful. Therapy is not about getting it “right.” It is about helping you feel more able to engage with your life in a way that feels meaningful and sustainable.
